Since opening its doors in 1952, the caring professionals at McPherson Veterinary Clinic have been serving the people and pets of the McPherson, KS area and providing them with the highest quality of veterinary care available.  While the clinic has changed substantially over the years, the core values of offering quality veterinary medicine in a caring environment with a professional, compassionate and highly trained staff remains the same.

Our full-service veterinary facility and highly skilled staff is prepared to offer a wide range of comprehensive care and services including wellness examinations, surgery, dentistry, laser services, x-rays, geriatric care, in-house diagnostic lab services and nutritional counseling.  We also offer professional grooming, dog and cat boarding and microchipping services.  We service both small and large animals, from pocket pets, cats and dogs to horses, cattle, goats, sheep and pigs.

Our Veterinarians

Dr. Paul Prose, DVM

Veterinarian
Dr. Paul Prose, pictured with Julio, received his undergraduate degree from McPherson College. He went to The Ohio State University to receive his doctorate in veterinary medicine. He lived and practiced in Pueblo, CO before returning to McPherson in 2010 & becoming the owner of McPherson Veterinary Clinic in 2015. In addition to being licensed to practice veterinary medicine in Kansas, he is also accredited by the USDA. He is a member of both the American Veterinary Medical Association and American Association of Bovine Practitioners. His special interests include companion animal medicine, dentistry, and dermatology. Dr. Prose also enjoys working as an equine and bovine practitioner.

Dr Bertil Ledell, DVM

Veterinarian
Dr. Bert Ledell, pictured with Bruno, was born and raised on a farm just north of McPherson. He went to Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine where he received both his undergraduate and veterinary degrees. Dr. Ledell is a USDA accredited veterinarian. He is a member of both the American Veterinary Medical Association and Kansas Veterinary Medical Association. He practiced in Illinois for 6 years before returning to Kansas. He owned McPherson Veterinary Clinic from 1982 to 2014. His special interests include feline medicine, radiology, internal medicine, and herd health managment.

DrElyse Rottinghaus, DVM

Veterinarian
Dr. Elyse (Pachta) Rottinghaus, pictured with Catniss, grew up in Wamego, KS and received her undergraduate degree from Newman University in Wichita, KS. She then attended Veterinary School at Kansas State University where she received her DVM. Dr. Rottinghaus is a USDA accredited veterinarian and a member of both the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Kansas Veterinary Medical Association. Her special interests include, but are not limited to, companion animal medicine, feline internal medicine, surgery, large animal medicine, and equine health. Dr. Rottinghaus enjoys working with a variety of species as a mixed animal practitioner.
